On the Road Again

The day after Christmas we woke up bright and early, like 4 am, to get on the road for a northern California visit. The little girls were quite pleasant as we woke them up, changed their clothes, and shoved them into the car in the blizzard.
The roads were so awful. It took us 14 hours to make the 10-11 hour trip. The roads were so snowy and icy and we weren't even sure if we were going to make it because of roads closing throughout Nevada.
After hours of sitting on our butts, and an hour and a half traffic jam to put on snow chains through Donner's pass we finally made it to Grandma Sugiyama's house.
And I don't think anyone was happier than Robby and I, who had to take turns sitting in between these little monsters. I mean, who doesn't like being woken up from a nap by a little finger getting shoved up their nose? Or being so squished that you can't even lean all the way back? Never again.
