Bailey update

Bailey, my little 2 1/2 year old  is growing up and becoming quite hilarious. I think she realizes how cute she is and she uses it to her advantage already. She is obsessed with talking on the phone. I have no idea where she gets this considering I use about 4 cell phone minutes a month. She has to call Sam everyday to say hi to him and if the goodbye doesn't meet her stamp of approval you are going to hear about it (tantrum of the century).

If I have a relative idea of when Sam is coming home on a particular day we will stand on the bookshelf and watch out the window for him to drive up on his scooter. As soon as she sees him she gets very excited and starts begging (pweease Mom, pweease) so she can run outside for a little scooter ride up and down the driveway.
She has also blossomed into quite the independent girl. Sometimes its a good thing like when she sits there for five minutes straight and gets her sandals on all by herself; or she runs and gets a diaper or the wipes for me so we can both change sister's diaper. Other times its awful. Like when she demands to wear the outfit she wants and ends up looking like rainbow brite. Or she goes missing in Costco for five minutes because she keeps walking, weaves around people quickly and then disappears into the crowd all while ignoring her name or your demands to stay here or come back.
The child is obsessed with her Aunt Rachel. The other day Sam and I heard a weird ringing noise so we went searching for the source. We found Bailey propped up on the couch with Sam's ipad trying to facetime with Rachel. We asked her what she was doing and she said "Rachel, Grandpa." Naughty, but hilarious. She is also obsessed with the song Thousand Years from twilight. I can only guess Rachel taught this to her because I had never heard of it before she started asking for the "heart" song. She grabs the i touch with it playing and then sings and dances around the house; and by dance I mean some very professional lyrical type dancing. We can just say that she did not get any of her rhythm from me.
Bailey loves playing with her friends. If you tell her we have to get dressed today because we are going to play with a friend or go to a party she lets out a huge gasp and then cheers! Then she almost always complies and usually ends up telling you to hurry.
We can definitely tell we have a two year old at times with the melt downs and temper tantrums. If she has to share or doesn't get her way you are going to get it. But its usually nothing that can't be solved by ignoring her or sending her to time out.
She really is a monkey at heart. She climbs up or hangs and swings on EVERYTHING. If we are at the mall, the grocery store, out for a walk....you name it she will find a curb to walk along, a bar to hang on and swing or a shelf to climb up and hide behind. She thinks that she is hilarious too. If you look at her sternly and tell her to climb down or let go she will just give you a sideways glance and huge grin that always makes me start laughing. Then she just laughs and carries on like she was correct because she made me laugh. (She is already her Daddy. Make me laugh and then I will just give in).
She may act like a monkey...but does she kind of look like a bear cub a little?
Back in July she finally said her first word. It happened to be "No." She was very upset that Uncle Quinn and Sam went into the backyard to spray for bugs and she had to stay in the house. She stood at the sliding glass door and banged on it while shouting NO.  After months and months of trying to get her to talk I ran over and was so happy and said, "you are talking!" She just looked at me like I was crazy and continued to be angry that she couldn't go outside too. From there she has just taken off. She still has her speech therapist come work with her every two weeks, but she just comes up with new words everyday that almost always make me start laughing.
Bailey is just my happy, cute, active two year old. She is so polite and is always quick to say "thanks Mom" whenever I do anything for her. She loves to make Hazel and I laugh everyday and we are just so happy that she is all ours. Love you miss Bailey Boo.

Ahhh, I love this age when they suddenly transform into little people! Bailey is too cute; I'm excited to see the boys interact with her next month.
