We wrapped up the fun family visit by celebrating Will's (nicknamed Wilbur by Sam) birthday with a zoo cake, and getting rid of his double ear infection. Poor baby.
Here is the birthday boy playing in the kitchen while Jana and I decorated the cake.

Check out that concentration.
Here is Sam doing his best to "help" us....

...by eating all the cake decorations.
And Clyde being very helpful...

...testing the elasticity on those party hats.
After a lot of talking, working, and trial and error we finished the project

Let's just say Jana is very creative; her boys are pretty lucky.
Unfortunately, this is what happened a few minutes later. Apparently the giraffe was a little too heavy for the frosting.

Luckily surgeon Chuck was there to fix the problem.
Here is the cute birthday boy posing for a picture

while he waits for us to finish the party preparations.
And here he is a little less posy, unlike the rest of the family.

Apparently Will was more interested in Grandma Pam than me and the camera.
And lastly, here he is catching and kicking the ball.

After all, his size can only be explained by one thing, natural athlete.
We are so happy we got to spend your first birthday with you Wilbur. Maybe next year you will like people food so you will actually eat your cake.
Happy Birthday! We love you!

Poor baby is right! He was a pretty good sport as he watched the rest of us eat his birthday cake :) What is it with my kids and being sick on their birthdays?
