Today is the day she has been waiting for...first day of preschool! She thought it was hilarious that her first day of school was on Daddy's birthday. She also thought she was so cool that Daddy was at school today and she was off to school as well. She woke up nice and early, ate her breakfast, got dressed, let me do her hair and brush her teeth and then headed outside for some pictures. She was more than happy to pose, she just wouldn't stick her tongue back into her mouth.
Then we went back inside, woke up Hazel who was dead asleep, and dragged her outside so she could shake Bails hand of course...
It was either the tongue sticking out, a goofy face, or wiggling her body around. I guess that is what a super great mood does to picture time in this house. Hazel was pretty confused, I think. She kept looking at me, then back at Bails, and then eventually started to imitate crazy Bailey's antics.
We got to school in time to walk Bails in on her first day. She was so excited to head inside her classroom and put her 'special bag' in her cubby, the green oval. Then she turned to me with a big hug and a smile, said goodbye, and then headed right over to the plethora of toys. Hazel was so disappointed she had to leave with me. By the time we got back to the car she was in tears while she pointed at Bail's car seat and jibber jabbered.
A few short hours later she was back home with us. When she hopped back into the car she was so happy and excited to see Hazel. It was so hard to get her to buckle because she kept holding Hazel's hand and talking to her. The way home she told me all about her day...the boy who kept crying because he was so sad that his Mom was gone, but she was so brave...they got to play outside...snack time...they sang lots of songs and she had to go potty and went all by herself!
She was also very clear to me that she needed to show her Daddy her bus name tag. Round #2 of picture time was much more difficult because they were busy running around chasing each other and playing ring a round the rosie.
They eventually calmed down enough to pose for a few pictures, but not without making silly faces of course.
Little Hazel always has to copy her big sister.
And the final one before I called it quits and made everyone come inside for lunch and naps.
Happy First Day of Preschool Bailey!

She is so. dang. cute in that uniform! I predict she'll be on the front of next year's brochure.
Jana's right. Challenger would be crazy not to use picture perfect Bailey as their model student! Can't wait for her to tell me all about school!
