It just so happened that our weekend get away also fell on our sixth wedding anniversary. It happened to be more of a coincidence than anything, but we were more than happy to add one more thing to equation to celebrate. We drove down to Costa Mesa Saturday afternoon, right after we got the girls down for their afternoon naps. Our first stop was checking into our hotel. Then we headed over to the huge mall to walk around. By huge mall I mean that we spent the better part of the weekend walking around this thing and we saw maybe half of what it had to offer. We shopped, walked, ate, and when I felt like my pregnant body was swelling up and ready to collapse we retired to the hotel to catch up on all of our television shows that we hadn't seen yet this year (mostly person of interest).
On our anniversary evening we skipped our usual melting pot destination because there was not one around and decided to hit up some japanese food. We trip advisored it and read all the rave reviews on a place that turned out to be a little more authentic than we were hoping. So we did a last minute switch and ended up here, still a little different than what we were expecting, but it was delicious, fun, and hilarious to me that Sam was the only white person in the whole place. Neither of us had any idea what we were doing so we spent a lot of the time spying on other tables so we wouldn't look like complete loonies.
Of course spying also makes your pictures turn out a little funny.
We had no idea what we were ordering because everything was in japanese, but it tasted delicious. We just wont dwell on the fact that it was mystery meat.
Happy Anniversary Sam! It has been a crazy busy year and I am glad that I got to spend it with you.
Love you forever.
