We managed to steal our Daddy away from his boards study for a few hours and then headed over to the Zoo. We hardly go into the gorilla exhibit these days because "they are just too scary for little kids like me and Hazel." However, posing behind the lego exhibit was not too scary.
This little sea otter statue (next to the carousel) is probably her favorite thing at the zoo. We could stand here for twenty minutes while she hugs, kisses, climbs on, talks to, and pets this little guy. Hazel does it as also because, well, monkey see monkey do. She also begs every time for us to take her picture with it.
She also begs for us to take her picture on every single statue at the zoo. The rhino, the tiger, the seal...Thank goodness the giant elephant statue is too loud and scary for them to want to go near.
And of course it would not be a complete visit to the zoo if they didn't get to ride on an animal. Bails has come a long way from being absolutely terrified to claiming now that she can do it all by herself. Hazel is just starting the process. We will see how long it takes her to come around.
Just one of probably hundreds we will take this summer. Oh joy.
