Sledding

In order to celebrate the new year, Dana and David's quick pit stop in Utah, and the fact that we were well rested with our 10:30 ish new year's eve bedtime we headed over to Sugarhouse Park to test out the superb sledding hills. We all geared up in our winter clothes and drove over. I will admit that I was terrified as soon as I climbed up the first hill. I hadn't been sledding in years and I think my lifetime total may be like 2 or 3 times including this day. My first run down I made Sam sit in front of me and I closed my eyes and held on for dear life. It was scary, but not awful so I ventured up the hill again with Sam and Hazel in tow. Before this run I did tell Sam that he was solely responsible for all of our lives and that all the stopping and steering was his job.
He managed to do his job just fine. Not only did we survive, but we stayed on the sled despite some large bumps we found on the way down.
Dana and David were not as lucky.
Especially when Robby and Bails came plowing down behind them and managed to run them over. I am pretty sure this is the run that took Bails cheering and asking for more to deciding she did not want to sled anymore, especially with Robby.

I think this run of Sam, Bails, and I turning sideways and then ultimately backwards with me screaming my lungs out finally did her in and she was done with the big hills and onto the 'baby hills' to the left.
Hazel in her 3-6 month bear suit. Good thing she is pocket size and still fits in almost anything we need her to fit into.
We decided to do a little race. Hazel and I vs. Rob and Bails. I am pretty sure I won and I would like to solely thank the bundles of hay for saving our lives and almost breaking my ankle.
I would also like to thank Aleesha for arriving just in time to park in the spot that stopped my run from heading all the way across the street. And I should probably publicly apologize for scaring my daughter so badly that she was crying and wanting to go home. I guess I scream louder than I think I do.
Bails was a trooper as was Hazel. Hazel would mostly whine the whole way down and then sit silently as we picked her up. Bails mood depended on the ride. If she got sprayed in the face or turned around backwards she was ready to be done. Otherwise she was begging for more.
Regardless we all had a ton of fun and were spared any injuries or hospital visits.
Thanks for coming everyone. Lets do it again soon.
