Feeding the Ducks...

And by feeding the ducks, I mean the nasty big ole mean geese. In Orem there are a few duck ponds, but there are a million kids in the city so you go to the park with your bread and the ducks don't even give you the time of day because they are so full of bread already. There is literally bread pieces all over the water and ground and getting one to actually eat your little piece is an anomaly.

So when we moved to Salt Lake we looked up a few parks and decided to take Bails to really feed some ducks. Only problem is the little ponds here have maybe six ducks and like a thousand geese who are hungry and not afraid of people.
When we first got to Sugar House Park we got out of the car happy and excited to watch Bailey be amazed at all the cute little ducks quacking around her. I grabbed our bread and Bails while Sam got the camera. We started to throw little pieces (and by we I mean I threw little pieces. Bailey doesn't feed the birds. She always eats the bread I give her to throw.)
The birds quickly started flocking towards us gobbling up everything faster than I could throw it. At first I was happy they were actually going to eat the bread; but that happiness quickly turned to fear as I realized the geese kept coming closer and closer to me.
So I did what a normal person does and I started to run for both of our lives.
I only stopped to try to throw the bread far away from me to get the birds away. I am not stupid. I have seen all those America's Funniest Home Video clips of people who get nipped at by mean hungry geese, and I did not want that to be me. Their beaks are ginormous and it looked like it would hurt.
Lets just say that I was legitimately scared and that emotion quickly turned to anger towards Sam who was laughing hysterically as he photographed the whole event and offered absolutely no help. The meanest part is that every time I tried to run towards Sam to have him help me he would just start taking off in the opposite direction to save himself.

Note to self: Sam is not a swoop in and save the day hero, he is more the look out for numero uno type. Would have been nice to now awhile ago.

I have no defense here so I will just take Bails down with me...
She was scared too. It doesn't matter that she is like one tenth the size of me and basically the same size as those monstrous birds. She didn't want to be anywhere near them either.
It took a little bit of coaxing, getting rid of all of our food and some shooing away most of those birds before she would get down and walk around on her own.
And we are both still a little bitter at Sam for leaving us high and dry to be attacked by those nasty geese while he looked on and laughed.
