Thanksgiving in Boise

Thanksgiving was quite the adventure. The storm of all storms was about to hit Utah. There was food storage scares and chatter that you better grab your emergency preparedness gear, all of which Sam and I are seriously lacking. We contemplated not making the drive to Boise, went anyway, and decided that Utah weathermen are all liars:) No storm, just the most freezing weather I have ever experienced in my life.

Scariest part of the drive up: our window washer fluid was frozen solid. You add this to Sam's poor eyesight and we had our own little epic snowstorm on our windshield. Visibility was almost zero.

Worst part of the drive: two hours of traffic around Burley. Can I just say that smelling cow poop for two hours turns me into an evil person. Just ask Sam.

In an effort to not be 100% negative we did make it there alive and mostly married. And it only took 7 hours which beats the 10 hour detour through Pocatello on our drive home.

So happy to be out of her car seat...
...and back to being the center of attention.
A little cousin love.

We ate thanksgiving dinner at Grandma Pam's house. It was delicious.
we also made some time to chase Grandma Pam's new little kitten around...
and of course to just hang around
and digest our large helpings of dinner.
There was also some pizza, volleyball, basketball, and fun at the church with Grandpa Braden later on in the week.
I am officially getting old. I'm not sure whether to blame the pregnancy and baby, the absence of a volleyball in my hands for years, or the fact that I have been out of high school for longer than I would like to admit, but lets just say it was embarrassing and yes I was quite sore the next day.
and we have no idea where she gets her flexibility from...
In the words of Sam, "Thank you Hotel Izatt" for your wonderful hospitality and a great weekend.
Happy Thanksgiving!
