Halloween was a day full of emotion. The sugar high may have made things change by the second. Like one second they could be running around playing great, and then Hazel will inevitably let out a scream and it will make Bails so sad because she won't want Hazel to yell at her.
Hazel will say sorry when you tell her to and then run off giggling like nothing happened.
And Bails will be sad until you give her a hug and tell her its ok and then she will jump up and move on to bossing Hazel around during the next game. And then the cycle will repeat itself.
We started our adventure that afternoon at the shopping center up the street. Bailey was hard to keep track of because she was running from place to place trying to collect as much candy as she could. Luckily Robby and Aleesha were there to help us with our adult to kid ratio.
Hazel of course clung to Robby. She had a hard time putting candy in her bucket and moving onto the next store.
She would let out a gasp and show everyone her treat every time she got a new one! But then she would usually get upset when we wouldn't open it for her for immediate consumption.
She was a little harder to keep on the move which made it hard to stay together as a group...
since this one was running as fast as she could.
This was the common scowl you would get for not opening up her candy.
And this is pretty much the view we had of Bails the entire time. Marching onward.
So thrilled with her collection. She seriously cleaned up.
After the shopping mall we picked up some pizza, scarfed down dinner, and then headed back outside to go around the block. Bailey was so happy. As she would run from door to door she would be shouting things like:
"I am so excited"
"Oh, I hope they have some candy at the next house"
We were just laughing the whole time listening to her.
There favorite house was the door that gave them each a dollar coin. Bails held it in her hand the rest of the night. At one point I saw her stooped down on the sidewalk. I called for her to come to me. She mumbled something about her treasure, but she followed along. I looked down at her and she had the biggest frown on her face. I asked her what was wrong and she was so sad because she had dropped her coin at the previous house. We went searching for it, and miraculously found it in the pitch black night. It had rolled off the sidewalk into the crack between the sidewalk and grass. The next day she excitedly took it to dance class to show her teacher and lost it after class. Once again she was so sad. The miracle coin once again found its way back to us the following week at dance. Her teacher had found it and saved it for her. Her lucky pirate treasure.
Happy Halloween!
