Ho Ho Ho...Merry Christmas!

Christmas this year was spent in Idaho with the Braden/Izatt clan. On Christmas eve we arrived in Boise and were treated to a delicious dinner at Mama Pam's house. We had fun hanging out and then headed out to Nampa to unpack and settle in for the night.

Soon enough the little boys were asleep so Chuck and Sam set out to set this amazing train table up. It was tricky trying to keep it hidden from the boys as they randomly woke up through the night, but Santa managed to keep it a secret as we all went to bed around midnight or so.
At least I thought it was a secret, until I was awoken at 3:30 am with shouts of "all aboard, woot woot." Apparently Chuck and Jana had a much longer night than Sam and I when Clyde found his present at 2 am and decided he was not tired anymore.

Luckily they got him back to sleep around 6 ish so we were able to sleep in a little extra, but definitely not how late I am used to...hence the tired awful look.
We sat around watching these guys love their amazing present, and even contemplated taking away all the rest of their presents to save them for another day.
Then it was time for delicious breakfast, and right when we were about to say the prayer, in walked Santa Claus's son and surprised the heck out of everyone. (Possibly Jana a little more than the rest of us hence the profanity), but in her defense he couldn't have picked a better moment.
Then the big kids got to open their presents. Sam with his usual over zealous happy face on Christmas morning, loving his gps.
And then the morning was wrapped up with the long awaited phone call from Quinner Binner...
And the afternoon was spent sitting around...
posing for pictures...
and missing Elder Quinn...
Christmas dinner was spent with the extended Braden family. Getting there was super fun for Sam because he got to use his gps. And even though it took him forever to program the address into the dang thing frustrating the hungry, fat, pregnant lady, he got to use his new toy.

Saturday was spent seeking out after Christmas bargains at Target and Old Navy.
That evening Papa Braden came over for dinner and Sam got to test out his culinary skills. He did a super good job making steak and mashed potatoes, unfortunately for him he proved he could do it and now I plan on abusing that knowledge.
While Sam cooked, we all hung out. And Clyde Monster was super helpful with opening Papa Braden's presents...
We finished off the weekend listening to Cousin Adam's homecoming talk. Unfortunately we were a little late and had to sit in the comfy chairs in the foyer, but he did a great job and it was good to see Grandpa and Papa Braden right before we hit the road back to Utah.
Thanks so much for letting us stay with you Chuck and Jana. We had such a fun Christmas. Love you guys.

Wow, it looks like for Christmas your husband put on about 20 lbs of sympathy weight! He sure must love you, though I must say that your 20 pounds went to all the right places and his seems to...well, have not.

Man, that bob fellow is very observant! Christmas was so fun!! Remember when I found my coat at Old Navy? That was wonderful. And also in my defense, the expression I used when I saw Cody was 'holy' in nature :) Also, that steak Sam made (with your help concocting the marinade, of course) was so delicious.
